Chickasaw Nation Oklahoma Through It People

Through high-tech, interactive touch screens, find Oklahomans with whom you connect. Learn how the Oklahoma heritage of people like Reba McEntire, Wiley Post, Shannon Lucid and Mat Hoffman attributed to their accomplishments. Oklahomans past and present, famous and not-so-famous, paint a picture of the state’s history in their portrayal of the five characteristics of every Oklahoman – perseverance, pioneer spirit, optimism, generosity and individualism.


Bust Gallery

Play Oklahoma trivia by guessing whom each of the busts represent when presented with clues about their lives. Join this cast of accomplished individuals by taking a picture of your own head atop a pedestal.

 

 


ONEOK Tell Your Story

Become a part of Oklahoma’s history by sharing stories about your own heritage. One at a time or in small groups, visitors enter a glassed-in booth where a touch-screen and video prompter encourage them to share memories or experiences that have contributed to their own heritage. Visitors can e-mail themselves a copy of their recording as a memento of their visit to the Museum.

Oklahoma Hall of Fame Gallery

Learn what it takes to be presented the state’s highest honor, induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Meet the newest class of inductees and search the database of the 655 inductees dating back to 1928.

 

 


Story of the Building

Learn about the building’s history, from being built in 1927 to being refurbished and renovated from 2003 to 2007. Also tour the office of Mid-Continent Life Insurance President R.T. Stuart just as it was in the 1920s.
